Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has urged China to push for a Thailand-Laos-China high-speed train project to support the formation of Asean’s AC by 2015. Thailand is planning to build a high speed rail system, and Yingluck said she wants the sytem to be link to the Laos China high speed rail system. Yingluck made the request on Thursday during her meeting with visiting Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former chief executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, Edmund Ho. The Thai prime ministeracknowledged that the Chinese government was supporting transport networking between China and Asean, and hoped Ho would further advocate cooperation between Bangkok and Beijing and help promote bilateral relations in the trade, investment and service sectors. Ho expressed his support for transport networking between Asean and southern China to boost economic growth, trade, investment and relations among the people in Asean and China (Source).
